OS President for 2017 announced

James Freeman to be President for 2017

The Omnibus Society is delighted to announce its President for 2017 is James Freeman, Managing Director of First West of England. 

James is well-known to OS members and is highly respected in the bus industry. After very successfully managing Reading Buses for seven years, transforming the business and bringing many awards to it, he moved to First West of England in 2014. In addition to all the usual challenges facing bus company managers, he is also responsible for delivering a substantial part of the exciting Metrobus project in the city. 

As well as being a charismatic and innovative industry manager, James is well known in enthusiast circles, not least as Chairman of Friends of King Alfred Buses, which has tackled some very challenging vehicle restoration projects in its quest to keep alive the memory of this well-known bus company. 

James will deliver his Presidential Address in London on Tuesday 31 January 2017 at 18.30hrs at Palestra House, 197 Blackfriars Road, London SE1 8NJ (opposite Southwark Underground station). The Presidential Weekend is scheduled to take place in Bath over the weekend of Friday-Monday 1-4 September 2017. Further details nearer the time.
