Scottish Branch - East Lothian and Borders tour

Waterloo Place, Edinburgh at 10.00

AC’s Taxis and Minibuses of Tranent will provide the vehicle for this tour which will depart from Waterloo Place, Edinburgh at 10.00. Visits are proposed to the Marine and Dunbar depots of Lothian Buses, the Berwick and Galashiels depots of Border Buses and the premises of AC, Prentice at Haddington and Peter Hogg at Jedburgh. There will be a stop of forty-five minutes at Berwick Town Centre in the early afternoon. The tour will finish around 19.00.

The cost of hiring vehicles for tours on a commercial basis has risen considerably in recent times.  As a result, midi coaches have been hired for the May and June tours and on the basis of a fare of £25.00 per person the tours will still run at a loss. History would suggest that the capacity on the midi coaches will be sufficient for our party.   

However, to avoid any capacity problems, members wishing to join either or both of the tours are asked to email Ian Allan, the Acting Branch Secretary on ian@shisolicitors.co.uk or if this is not possible telephone him on 01383 724949 during business hours. Anybody who turns up on the day can only be accommodated if there are still seats available.

The matter of long distance tours in the future is something which will require to be addressed.
