Weekend Tour to South Yorkshire

Open to all

Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th May 2015 – Weekend Tour to South Yorkshire.

Stuarts of Carluke will provide the vehicle for this tour, which will depart from Cowcaddens  Road, Glasgow on the north side of Buchanan Bus Station at 09:00.

Accommodation has  been pre-arranged at the Premier Inn at Angel Street in Sheffield City Centre (http://www.premierinn.com/en/checkHotel/SHECIT/sheffield-city-centre-angel-street), where  a charge of £52 per room (£26 per person if sharing) has been secured. In the event that more people book for this tour than budgeted, a greater charge may have to be imposed on a few. However, this is an unlikely scenario. A full English breakfast (all you can eat) will be available for those who wish it, at the additional cost of £8.75 per person. There is also a Meal Deal for anyone interested, which consists of a 2 course meal from a set menu with a drink and Full English Breakfast in the morning for £22.99 per person. Menus can be viewed via the website shown above.

We plan to head straight for Sheffield where, on arrival at the hotel, participants will be free for the remainder of the day.

On the Sunday, we hope to visit the Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum, which is having a 1940s Trolleyday Open Day that day, Linburg Coaches of Sheffield, Coopers of Killamarsh and Reliance of York. We should return to Glasgow around 19:00.

The fare will be £35.00, payable at the time of booking. Those wishing to take part should complete the enclosed  booking slip and return it to the Branch Secretary not  later  than  Monday 30th March  2015, together with a remittance of the sum of £35.00. Cheques should be made payable to “The Omnibus Society”. Those who book for the tour will receive confirmation of the accommodation arrangements by e-mail or post.
