James Freeman

We have a double dose of our President, James Freeman, this year! As well as running First West of England, James is also well-known as the Chairman of Friends of King Alfred Buses, the very enthusiastic and high-profile organisation that keeps alive the memory of Winchester-based King Alfred Motor Services, more than 40 years after its demise.

James will give us the history of this much-missed small company which combined highly independent procedures with a big bus company feel. Its services still form the basis of today's Stagecoach network in Winchester.

James is always an entertaining speaker, and we're grateful to him for going beyond the usual Presidential commitment to speak again to us at the end of his Presidential year, which of course began with his Presidential Address in January. It will be an enjoyable and informative evening.
