How and why did London's Transport become London Transport?

In this joint meeting of the London Historical Research Group and the Eastern & Southern Branch to mark 90 years since the creation of London Transport, Dr. James Fowler will speak on "How and why did London's Transport become London Transport".  This joint meeting between LHRG and the Eastern & Southern Branch will take place in the Abbey Community Centre, Westminster on Saturday 8 July 2023 at 14.00 for 14.30.  The meeting is dedicated to the late John Taylor.

Dr Fowler is a lecturer at the Essex Business School of the University of Essex.  His wider research interests focus on the finance, governance and leadership of organisations in a historical context.

JohnTaylor was one of the oldest OS members with over 70 years membership and one of the original Members of the Eastern and Southern Branch when formed in 1998. He had extensive knowledge of Eastern National. 

The venue is The Abbey Community Centre, 34 Great Smith Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3BU.  The Abbey Centre is on bus route 88 and close to Victoria Street and Parliament Square for other services.  All are welcome, especially members of LOTS and Friends of London Transport Museum.
