Tony has been a member of the Omnibus Society for many years, having joined at the point of making a career in the passenger transport industry.
He subsequently worked for London Transport, the National Bus Company before moving into local government, dealing with the development and implementation of public transport policy issues, alongside the planning of local bus services and other passenger transport facilities.
This was followed by an appointment in the then Strategic Rail Authority and almost finally in his career, moving to the Department for Transport, where he was involved in the implementation of some significant rail upgrades. Currently, he is still involved in transport as a consultant, although is seeking a bit more time to enjoy exploring bus and coach networks, as well as researching out a few of the little known issues from the past. For that he says, the archive of the Omnibus Society will be an essential source of information.
Tony is married with two children, both of whom are also employed in the transport business.
