British Motor Museum (Gaydon) & visit to Stagecoach at Leamington

British Motor Museum (Gaydon) & visit to Stagecoach at Leamington

We are celebrating our 70th Anniversary with a special event based at the British Motor Museum.

There will be short presentations on our Branch history, an opportunity to view the Museum, a buffet lunch, and then a visit to Stagecoach depots, new and old, in Leamington. Our Branch Ambassador for the year, Gary Nolan of Stagecoach, will be in attendance as will a number of invited guests, and there will be ample opportunity to exchange views on the bus industry - past, present and future.  You don't have to be a Midland Branch member to take part.

Stagecoach heritage Bristol/ECW FLF 453 will depart Rugby (Railway Terrace outside Stagecoach depot entrance) at 0920 and Leamington (Old Warwick Rd - X17/X18 bus stop opposite railway station facing westbound) at 1000 to transport members and guests to Gaydon.  Travel by train from the West Midlands to Rugby or Leamington.

A second interesting vehicle will depart Derby (Corporation St) at 0830, Derby railway station 0835, Burton (Wellington St - Angelo’s Fish Bar) 0900 and Lichfield bus station 0930 for Gaydon.

Completed Booking Forms (click here to request one) should be returned by post to Richard Morgan, 14 Rosedale Close, Sundon Park, LUTON, Beds, LU3 3AP, who is the Branch event leader for this visit, ASAP. Richard can also be contacted by telephone on 07889 357392. This number will also be the telephone contact number on the day of the visit.

We do not normally ask for a deposit or confirm bookings unless all places are taken (a rare event). The cost is £10.00 per person including subsidy for Midland Branch members as part of the 70th Anniversary celebrations, which will be collected on the day. Bookings are essential, on this occasion, to be received by Saturday 25 March 2017, due to advising the caterers and our hosts Stagecoach of numbers.

Accessibility: The British Motor Museum and Stagecoach Leamington depots have disabled access (accessible toilets at the Museum). The two vehicles to be used on the shuttle services from/to Rugby and Derby do not offer disabled access. Any concerns, please contact the Event Organiser.

Dress Code: Due to the kudos of this event and the presence of invited industry guests, members are kindly and respectfully requested to dress smartly. All locations are clean.
