Go-Coach of Sevenoaks has been making a name for itself in recent years for its quality operations on Kent County Council tendered services in North-West Kent. From small beginnings it has grown to be Kent’s largest independent bus operator, with a fleet of 50 vehicles on 46 routes and a staff of more than 70.
Despite the name, Go-Coach describes itself as 'very much bus-focussed' and 'proud to be Sevenoaks’ Network Provider linking many of the most rural areas of Sevenoaks District to the Town Centre.' It carries between 5,000 and 5,500 passengers a day on scheduled and demand-responsive services which cover not only rural areas around Sevenoaks but also Dartford and Bluewater.
Austin Blackburn tells the strory of this innovative smaller operator.
