LHRG meeting: Fred Ivey part 5

11 Jun 2020

All change post-war

The June 2020 LHRG meeting will be the fifth presentation by Fred Ivey of his photographs.  Following recent work to clean and scan the early negatives, this presentation will concentrate on Fred's early black & white photographs of buses in the London Transport Central Area.

The meeting will be held at 18.00 for 18.30 on Thursday, 11 June 2020 at TfL, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, SE1 8NJ (opposite Southwark tube station, buses 40, 63).

We anticipate that the meeting will be in the ground floor meeting room, which is accessible directly from the Reception area and it is not necessary to book in via Reception.  If you arrive early, please wait in the seated area beyond Reception until the room becomes free.

Please check here prior to the meeting in case of a change in venue.

Merton Garage's STL1754 on route 157 passes the gates to Morden Hall.  The bus, with

a 1937 STL14 roofbox body, was rebuilt by Mann Egerton in 1947 and is seen in postwar

livery; the route was largely operated by Daimlers, but with occasional STLs.  RTs took

over the route in late 1953.
