The October 2020 LHRG meeting will feature a talk by David Grimmett on Express services from London through Essex.
From the 1920s Londoners flocked to the east coast to enjoy days out and holidays. Coach operators grappled with the licensing system to provide services for the masses. David describes the rise and fall of express services to the east of London.
Before running his own successful coach business in Somerset, David's career took in Grey-Green Coaches, Bristol Omnibus Company, and Hutchings & Cornelius. He is Editor of the PHRG Journal.
The meeting will be held at 18.00 for 18.30 on Thursday, 8 October 2020 at TfL, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, SE1 8NJ (opposite Southwark tube station, buses 40, 63).
We anticipate that the meeting will be in the ground floor meeting room, which is accessible directly from the Reception area and it is not necessary to book in via Reception. If you arrive early, please wait in the seated area beyond Reception until the room becomes free.
Please check here prior to the meeting in case of a change in venue.
