Frank Pick and the Johnston typeface

The October 2022 LHRG meeting will feature a talk by Andrew Johnston, grandson of Edward Johnston on the development of the iconic Johnston typeface for the Underground and its development for use on bus destination blinds.

The meeting will be held at 18.00 for 18.30 on Thursday, 13 October 2022.  The venue for meeting will be confirmed nearer the date.

A variety of Johnston and pre-Johnston typefaces in use on ex-Tilling ST974 in 1934.
